In our words: This candle smells like childhood — if your childhood smelled like a sweets bakery. The vanilla and amber come together to create a sweet but musky scent. Like other Seraphine candles, the design of the candle itself is outstanding and can easily go from candle to succulent pot. The only downside is this candles throw. It’s amazing up close but it doesn’t fill a room.

Who said sandalwood could smell this mysterious? Not me. Yet here we are. The scent is sandalwood in cursive. She’s spicy. Scent aside, the design and aesthetic of OTHERLAND candles is beautiful, and ‘Dappled Wood’ is no different.

Throw: The throw doesn’t match the quality of the scent. it’s not terrible by any means, but I just wish it was a bit more potent. Up close it’s bright and deliciously scented. A stronger throw would put this candle up amongst the ranks of the greats.
Tunneling: Even with wick trimming, this candle heavily tunnels. You can solve this by wrapping aluminum foil around the top of the candle to direct the heat towards the edges to even the wax.
